Children in Early Years Foundation Stage settle into school quickly, gaining in confidence and learning to enjoy school
Willow Class is comprised of our Nursery and Reception Children. It is taught by Mrs Biddulph and supported by Mrs Barber.
Our stimulating, caring environment reflects the topic that the Nursery is focusing on. Sometimes our room is an underwater aquarium, sometimes a winter wonderland! We also have a developing outdoor area where learning can go beyond the classroom. We have weekly sessions in our Forest with the Reception children, which is an exciting and rich context for the children's learning. Structured and free play opportunities enable our staff to develop language, creative, social and physical skills.
Our aim is to develop a confident child, with an inquisitive mind and a lifelong passion for learning. It is essential that we work closely with parents and share knowledge to ensure we do the very best for each child. Parents are invited to come into the class before school to talk with staff and choose books to share with their children at home. We plan every child’s development based on observation, ongoing assessments and parental feedback.
Our Nursery is open plan and feeds directly into Chestnut Class so that the children have a seamless transition. They work alongside the Reception children, building positive relationships with their future peers and teaching staff.
From September 2017 the Nursery provision is as follows:
